About Us
For nearly a decade, Community of Faith church in Cypress, Texas, has enabled Christians to appreciate the relevance of their faith in their daily lives. Pastor Mark Shook and his wife Laura founded Community of Faith in 2003, when they moved to Cypress with their three children after 10 years of mission work. Pastor Mark came to Community of Faith with academic degrees in religion, psychology, and Christian counseling.
Community of Faith holds worship services on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. The three services are identical, so that families can attend at the time that best suits their schedules. Church members enjoy Pastor Mark’s preaching style, which is relevant, knowledgeable, faith-filled, and funny. The community draws its inspiration from the teachings of the Bible and uses scripture and prayer to grow in knowledge and love of God.
People in all states of life can feel at home at Community of Faith in Cypress. The church has a wealth of activities for children and teens. And once a month, the women of the community gather for prayer, fellowship, and an inspiring talk by Pastor Mark’s wife. The men’s club schedules regular opportunities for recreation and fellowship, such as hikes, fishing trips, and guys’ nights out. Community of Faith also sponsors groups for young adults and singles. Members form smaller communities that meet for prayer and Bible study in homes and coffee shops. In addition, the whole church comes together for monthly days of service.

For instance, in Burundi, Africa, there are several community development projects to help people develop food security, obtain government recognition, and educate their children.
